On May 21, 2026 The Global Organization of EPA & DHA’s Managing Director Ellen Schutt interviewed HPA-Global’s Executive Director Jeff Crowther about the association’s new name and new direction it was undertaking. HPA-Global was previously known at HPA-China and focused much of its efforts on assisting international supplement and ingredient companies with their China business including market entry strategy, regulatory consulting, cross-border e-commerce, marketing etc. Now the association is adding a whole new level to its offerings including regulatory services including product approvals, registrations, label reviews, foreign manufacturer registration for not only China, but also the U.S., EU, Japan and South Korea.

Ellen and Jeff also discussed the latest happenings in China’s supplement industry such as the new Decree 280 from China’s General Administration of Customs and also how certain ports of entry are asking for more details and information from companies utilizing cross border e-commerce to reach Chinese consumers. This is relatively new and is causing confusing when dealing with Customs.
